FAQ
do my zine pages need to have writing or text of some kind?
No, they don't! They can be entirely image-based, feature a mix of text & image, have multimedia elements (e.g. paper, fabric, beads) or whatever else you can dream up. You'll get the chance to explain your thinking behind the zine pages in your final reflective paper.
paper or digital?
either works (or a combination!). for digital lovers, I recommend the free online software, canva, but there's also photoshop, procreate, the notes app, or any other design programs you might fancy. old school print people can use any kind of paper or cardstock. if you can't decide, do both!
where & how do i get started?
if you're not sure where to begin, or need some creative inspiration, You can take a look at the class Pinterest (via the bulletin board)
what if i need supplies?
let me know -- i've got tons of supplies i'm happy to share or post about it in the class discord.
will i get to print my zine if i make it digital or get photocopies if its paper?
yup! for our final showcase, you'll each get copies and share your work with each other and the public if comfortable. So, for digital-based folks, you can then add inserts, stickers, clippings, or whatever else you like, after it's printed.
How long should the zine pages be?
each week, you'll make two 8.5 x 11" pages worth of content but you've got options about how you'd like that to look:
